The Do's and Don'ts of GM Help Requests

Daliniya's Guide to Help Requests

Ticketing Do's

Ticketing Don'ts

  • Do check the forums for relevant information if your realm should go down.
  • Don’t log into other realms and spam requests for support. We are aware of the issue, and doing so reduces our response time as we must deal with your additional tickets.
  • Do cancel your ticket if you are able to find the answer to whatever it is about.
  • Don’t leave your ticket open if you've found the answer, as if you do a GM may end up wasting time responding to you, which may delay their response to other players who still need help.
  • Do remember to use the most accurate category for your ticket.
  • Don’t use just any category. This will help your request reach the relevant GM.
  • Do let us know when you have lost an item or accidentally deleted a character.
  • Don't try to lie about items or characters you never had however, as attempting to defraud a Game Master is grounds for account suspension.
  • Do include the names of characters who are misbehaving, as well as the time of the incident.
  • Don't send tickets about the same issue multiple times.
  • Do include your normal play times using the in-game clock.
  • Don't send tickets about an incident on one server using a character on a different server.
  • Do read over your ticket to be certain your issue is clear before you submit it.
  • Don't submit a ticket saying "HELP NOW!" or "I have a problem. Please contact me in-game for more details."
  • Do remember to include the actual problem you are experiencing in your ticket.
  • Don't write your ticket in all upper-case or in "dudespeak."
  • Do submit tickets about account problems you are having from your account if possible. If it is not possible, please use the Technical Support or Billing webform.
  • Don't ask your friends to submit tickets on your behalf.
  • Do submit tickets in English for the English Realms, French for the French Realms, and German for the German Realms
  • Don't submit tickets in any language other than the server's preferred language.
  • Do remember that Game Masters are Blizzard Employees and cannot assist you with raids, questing, or leveling your character.
  • Don't submit tickets asking for gender, class, or server changes.
